Ray & Sandra Hawkins started Hawkins Agencies in 1982 by purchasing the existing insurance brokers. Ray had served in the RCMP for the last 15 years, while Sandra had been nursing. Hawkins Agencies expanded to include brokerages at Mendham, Prelate, Sceptre and Lancer. The ownership of Hawkins Agencies was purchased by Sandhills Credit Union on January 1, 2006. Ray continues to manage, and Sandra has retired.   

Ray Hawkins
Ray has been licensed to sell insurance since 1982, and obtained the insurance designation Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) in 1997. He obtained a Real Estate License in 1989 and has been affiliated with Remax Group West Realty ever since. Ray is also a Notary Public. Community Involvement has always been a major focus for Ray. He was a member of the Leader Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. He is a member of the Leader Lions, having served as president twice, and is very involved in their projects. Ray has been the president of River Ridge Golf Club for eight years and is currently the treasurer. He has served in various capacities with the Leader Board of Trade, and was a member of the Leader Masonic Lodge until it closed. He served as the local Justice of the Peace from 1982 to 2003. Ray's hobbies include: golf, fishing, golf, curling, more golf, and walking.

Carma Besplug
Carma joined the Agency team in 1998 and obtained her General Insurance License in 1999. Carma has been responsible for Motor Vehicle License Issuing and Investments areas, and her duties have now expanded to the customer account area. Carma is our expert in Blue Cross Medical and Travel Insurance. Carma & Kevin live in Mendham and have one daughter.

Roxana Tiefenbach
Roxana joined the Agency team in 2006 and obtained her General Insurance License in 2006. Roxana is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) with excellent computer skills. She has taken over the general accounting and book keeping duties.  Roxana is now the front counter person doing most of the Motor Vehicle Transactions. Roxana is very involved in the community in particular the school being a Local School Board Member and chairperson for the Leader & District PTA. she is also very involved in the Lutheran Church, as a member of the Church Board, assistant Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher. Roxana has four children with two still in school in Leader. Other interests include writing, reading and baking.

Cameron Sinclair
Cam joined our Agency in 2006 after 15 years as manager of the Leader Customer Service Office of Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation. Cam obtained his General Insurance License in 2006 and is working on his designation as a Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB). Cam has a farming background and his duties focus on selling and servicing customers’ insurance needs, in particular, farm and home insurance. Cam is also involved in the community as a Vice President of the Lions Club, Leader United Church Board, and coach of minor hockey and baseball. Cam and Sylvia have five children with only their youngest, Ben, still at home. Cam enjoys golf, curling, hockey, hunting, and farming.
